3月30日，岳阳市十中迎来了一批尊贵的客人——中英“校际连线”姊妹学校普勒斯顿学校（Preston School）副校长Jaclyn Surrey 女士一行。接下来，他们将在岳阳展开为期7天的访问交流活动。同时，她还带来了英国基础教育大臣David Laws MP先生给岳阳市国际教育交流中心主任的一封信。
    信中，David Laws MP先生强调了中英“校际连线”姊妹学校交流的重要性，对普勒斯顿学校（Preston School）与岳阳市十中的交流给予了充分肯定。作为英国学校基础教育大臣和约维尔选区的议员，他非常高兴能为学校的国际交流项目提供支持，并期待中英两地的教育合作能上升到更深的层次和更广的空间。
    英国基础教育大臣给我市国际教育交流中心来信，受到了英国驻大使馆和英国驻广州领事馆文教处的高度重视，他们给国际教育交流中心打来电话，高度评价岳阳的中英校际连线项目所取得的成果。市国际教育交流中心主任万志勇给英国基础教育大臣David Laws MP回信表示，一定加强和萨姆塞特郡的交流，巩固合作成果，把中英教育交流合作做得更好。

Dear Mr. Wan Zhiyong and Mrs. Zhan Hongmei,

I have been made aware of the important partnership that has been built between Preston School in Yeovil and your school in Yueyang over the past two years. I am delighted to be in a position, as Minister for Schools and MP for the constituency of Yeovil in Somerset to lend my support to this International Schools Project.

I am writing to express my thanks for hosting Mr. Sweet, Mr. Smith and Ms. Surrey for the duration of seven days and am very keen to support this partnership which will undoubtedly benefit both students and staff. Our schools and education systems have much to learn form one another and I am sure that these ambitious plans signed by Mr. Bloxham and Ms. Liu in October 2014 will only strengthen the partnership further.

I am certain the staff of Preston School will have a superb professional learning experience and, as I gather during the visit to No. 10 Middle School, they will be teaching English classes. It is this opportunity among many that I am sure will make the partnership visit a memorable and meaningful one for all concerned.
